Documentary Photographs by Madeleine de Sinéty

    Madeleine and I have been working together for a couple years, though she has been a friend of my family ever since I was a young child. When Madeleine first learned of my decision to transition, she immediately expressed her strong desire to document the process. Since then, she has taken more than 100 rolls of film, and she has followed me through hormone therapy, chest surgery, and recovery. Above are the images we chose to exhibit in our “seeking embodiment” show last spring (2005).
